Re: 1994 Rover 414Sli

Everyone starts out as a ham-fisted amateur, just a few years ago I barely new one end of an engine from the other, now thanks to the internet and forums I'm moderately competent, even adventurous, with my tinkerings. So never be afraid to have a go, just get out there and get spannering. You'll be ...

Mini? They certainly look like the sort of delicious branflakes old Austins like to create.

Re: 1994 Rover 414Sli

Those diagonal braces aren't for stiffening, they're just to stop the back seat collapsing into the boot. All the stiffening is going to be in the parcel shelf that runs the width of the car, and since that's tied to the towers with the new brackets, I doubt there'll be any noticeable difference. At...

Re: 1994 Rover 414Sli

Got in and did a bit more today. I wanted to do the underseal, fit the tank, and get the door cards on. I managed some of this. First, the underseal. It probably doesn't need it but since this is an all-weather-car and I have taken it through a couple of winters now, it seemed prudent to give it a l...

Re: 1993 Honda Concerto 1.5i

The door card fabric may be going to someone else if they can collect the door cards, but all the fabric from the front and rear seats is available. If you'd like it, drop me a PM and we can work out cost of postage, or collection if you're anywhere near Middlesbrough. I don't want anything for the ...

With 4 Concertos you must own almost every one left in the UK.

Re: 1994 Rover 414Sli

Cheers, I'm moderately satisfied with it. :) ---- I have been jolly busy today and the Rover looks almost like a proper car again. Very first job was to put the all-important shiny 1994 1p back under the underlay. Now, I don't want to say I'm a superstitious sort, but later on 20p fell out of one of...

Re: 1993 Honda Concerto 1.5i

I may be able to furnish you with some matching fabric as I've just pulled out the same interior from my 400 so I've got all the door cards and all the seats. The foams are fairly worn out so the seats aren't going to be much use but I could strip the fabric off them and then you can cut the best bi...

Re: 1994 Rover 414Sli

When I got the Rover, you may remember it had a couple of blobby bits on one rear arch. Perfectly normal for an R8, they all rust here. Three years seems like a lot longer ago than it really is. https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4511/37408835555_1e19b6811a_z.jpg 20150721-03 by Angyl Roper , on Flickr I...

Re: 1994 Rover 414Sli

Got busy with the angle grinder today while waiting for the windscreen fitters to arrive. I decided to chop both the grot and the good metal between the grot out so I could replace the lot in one piece a bit easier. It also meant I could find out if anything was hiding. I was impressed at how solid ...

I have no idea who Stuart Hall is but I'm pretty sure the German that was piloting it wasn't Stuart Hall.

Re: The Old Lady

I'm super happy with it. Tonight, we went the furthest north I've ever gone to have fish and chips in North Shields and hang out with some other weirdoes from the internet with old cars. It was nice. https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1773/42176158060_8f2e1c8a49_b.jpg Doubt I'll ever park next to a Linc...

Re: Track R8 214 Sprint

You: Oh, what did you bring then?

Them: *points out predictable nonsense, if they even had something to bring*

You: How disappointing. (even if you like it, this has to be your response, they don't half get their knickers in a twist about it)

Re: Track R8 214 Sprint

This has come together all at once and is looking fantastic. You wouldn't think a car with a bright orange engine and white wheels could be considered understated and so very nearly a sleeper, I bet it catches a few folk off guard when they're expecting it to be an OAP chariot.
