Re: Track R8 214 Sprint

Can finally get on with the car again now xmas and new year are out of the way. Replaced all the seals, pistons, sliders etc for the 160 brakes and gave them a coat of yellow. Not a lot of space under the 15's tho.... https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49328012203_5132922871_b.jpg IMG_20191229_1601...

Regarding the adjustable ones I fully agree.
Nevertheless on my cabby the Dark Ice one doesn't fit: I can screw 2 bolts (front & back) out of 3 on each side but the middle bolt is too low or the strut brace hole needs to be 1/2cm higher. :sad
What about adding a 10mm washer under the strut brace

Re: Which kind of brace struts...

If your fitting the dark ice rear brace you need the 45/ZS one NOT the 200/25/ZR

Re: Head Gasket/Oil Ladder Upgrade.

I wouldn't worry to much about the bolts to be honest if your not using the new later engine block. I've used a few N series head gaskets from X Part etc and none have ever come with the 10.9 grade stamped on the heads anyway. Good quality original bolts are fine just use the original torque setting...

How do you know you can use MLS gasket if you haven't check the liner heights. The next best mod is to fit the Land rover Grey PRT thermostat

Re: Track R8 214 Sprint

That being said brings a few good points, looks better and i can set the car lower but the on the negative side means i cant run the big brake kit so im down to ZR160 282mm discs and calipers :scared Im also going to have to use the 216 GTI wheels (which are heavier than the 17's) because the Turbo...

Re: Dailying an R8 or 45

I think that all the 2/416's came with a bonnet acoustic blanket whereas the lower spec 1.4's didn't, that seems to make a lot of difference to cabin noise levels. My 1991 poverty spec 214 from 1991 did have the acoustic blanket from new. Perhaps it was the 1992 build revisions which removed it? My...
