Re: Rimmers CS gone down hill.

I've not had any experience with Rimmer Bros before joining the club - in fact I had never heard of them before, so was a total surprise when I found out how easy it was to get some bits (if rather expensive!), so I can't really comment on their previous customer service standard, but my current exp...

Re: Alarm light speed 216 Coupe (Honda)

When the alarm is armed how fast should the red light flash? mine flashes once per second, is that normal? Yep. Mine does the almost same, blinks very rapidly when arming, 1 second pulses when armed but a solid red when the door is opened using the key, rather than the fob. Anything else sets the a...

Re: Flame Red 3 Door 216GTi Auction

P.S It sounds like you're used to driving modern diesels with their 6/7 speed gearbox's Richard? As an owner of an R8 diesel, (turbo Peugeot variety), M-Way speeds 65-70 mph are achieved at about 2,500 rpm in 5th gear - which is just before the Turbo comes online, so max fuel efficiency as well. Re: Changing the thermostat on 214 K16

I wonder why the early engines used a 82 degC thermostat (GTS282) and the later ones 88 degC (GTS298) Probably to help the engine warm up faster to reduce fuel enrichment times and improve fuel economy - especially on short journeys. The longer the thermostat is closed, the quicker the water in the...

As correctly stated above, according to their Facebook page, they have relocated. Took them six months to do and sadly this is to a smaller yard, so there will be less choice of stock, but at least they are still around.

Re: Drivers Electric Window Not Operating Correctly

I've recently started having an issue with the drivers electric window. Instead of lowering when you depress the switch a little bit, the window 'jerks' slightly, then does nothing and when the auto is pressed, the window fails to lower all the way down automatically and only moves for as long as m...

You could suspect the window control module - YWC10044.
Thanks, Johnny. Is there any way to confirm that this is faulty, or is it simply a case of "replace and see"?

I hope someone HAS bought it. Last I heard about, it the owner was threatening to break it for spares, because he kept getting Ebay timewasters and the car wasn't selling :scared

Re: INERTIA CUT OFF SWITCH 418 TOURER

Thinking about it, the fuel pump etc is completely mechanical, so there would be nothing to shut down after a collision. There is a fuel shut off valve to ensure that the engine stops when you turn off the ignition as, with a completely mechanical system - fuel pump, injector pump and injectors - o...

Wheel Alignment following Rear Bush Replacement

I've had several sets of rear arm bushes on my cars over the years of owning them and until recently never really noticed any uneven tyre wear resulting from the change. Before the MoT last year, I'd had to replace a bottom ball joint and arm so had the tracking checked afterwards, so it was all ali...

Classy and rare White Gold with beige interior, unfortunately some visible rust too
And a nasty tear in the drivers RH bolster - looks like the leather is torn away completely unless it's a bad photo.

Re: Hello there - 216 Cab

Not sure re the wheel nuts - can you tell me what I am looking for? The 'floating cone' type wheel nut was fitted to the earlier Rovers with alloy wheels, see:- https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-RRD10004 It's referred to as 'floating cone' because the flange that goes up against the wheel, although at...

Re: Website / forum issues

I've been having a few issues with the forum recently. I get a very long loading time, then either... a completely blank page, with just the header, or an error message saying something along the lines of "SQL has gone away" Has anyone else experienced this?? I had this happen again, so this time I...
