Re: Rover "Covertable" for sale on Ebay
damn that went cheap :slapme It may not have done. The last time I saw the car still for sale, it was up to £160 and it had not reached the reserve price. I would be very surprised if the £170 "hammer price" had taken it above the reserve - unless the vendor decided that was the best they would get...

Re: Comfort Vehicle Theft
There was an article recently about the increase in theft of vehicles fitted with keyless entry, Apparently for very little money it's possible to buy a signal relay box that boosts and bounces the signal from the key to the car - allowing thieves to unlock, start and drive away the car, just by sta...

Do you have a direct link in your browser history bud rather than an item number, just being nosey. :D You can try this, I'm not sure if it will work from here, it did from my browser history, but of course I have a "copy" of the webpage in there. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rover-216-covertable/202...

Re: FS Rover 418GSD M632OOG - Spares or Repair
Considering the number of members who have at least 2 cars, and the number of cars we want to save, maybe forget the hangar and go for a full airfield, complete with runways for test drives!

FS Rover 418GSD M632OOG - Spares or Repair
Rover 418GSD 144k on the clock, just failed it's MoT on rear sill corrosion, OSR wheel bearing and OSF brake binding, but still has MoT until 29/4/18. Loads of minor advisories though, seems to have a lot of corrosion in the sills. Described as "Burgundy Red" but from the pics I think they mean Nigh...

Re: Alarm
my car has a small red light built in the dash between the rev counter and speedo as I have seen on many rover`s the horn sound`s when the alarm goes off , I don't have a fob it`s just a key It's possible that removing the fuses has disconnected the power to the alarm, making it think there has bee...

Re: Rover "Covertable" for sale on Ebay
Nothing coming up for that item number bud. :blink It won't unfortunately. When I posted that notification, there was only about 24hrs left before the sale ended. I did mention that in the posting. It never made any more than the £160 it was up to, so as it had not met the reserve I assume it didn'...

eBay item number:202288753113 Located in Reading High mileage (166k) 216 Convertible for sale in Grey. N291YDU. Has MOT till August 18 2018. To 1234dist - how do you embed photos? You can't. All you can do is post links then pray to the Chapel of Dist. If he deems your prayers worthy, 1234Dist waves his omnipotent mouse and miraculously, they appear on the forum :laughing2 In all seriousness, the forum seems to be locked for direct post...

Re: Matt's Weekend Repairs - 1998 216 Coupe
If I can get the CV joint off the driveshaft that will save having to mess around with gearbox oil, but it's unlikely to go that well :headbanging The last time I had to replace a CV gaiter, I cheated and used one that is designed to stretch over the CV joint using a cone. I bought a pair, which is...

Re: Car Towing Limits, what can my car tow ??
It should say in your handbook, or alternatively on the VIN plate on your car. You are looking for maximum towing weight or maximum train weight (MTW), which is the maximum weight of a fully loaded car and fully loaded trailer and should not be exceeded under any circumstances. According to the GOVU...

Re: HHR mats for R8?
Does anyone know if mats for the 400 HHR will fit in the R8 floor pan OK? They will fit after a fashion. I bought a set not realising they were not for the R8 and used them for many years. They don't fit perfectly, particularly the rears, because the interior fittings (like the seat rails) are not ...

Re: Rover 420 GSi Tourer
I hate the weights on the outside but if the rim is designed that way there isn't much you can do but not too sure. I’ve always asked tyre fitters to stick them on the inside and they’ve always obliged. Bugs me when they’re on the outer rim! It's far worse when they have run out of the stick-on wei...

Re: Aftermarket Immobiliser
If you upload a photo of the broken fob, I might be able to point you in the direction of a replacement switch if you're a dab hand at soldering... If you posted it to me and it was only a switch replacement, provided we can find a replacement switch/button, I should be able to do it. Here are coup...
