MOT Success

One of my 12 year old SEi's passed its MOT last week. Total cost £171. Work that needed to be done was adjust headlamp aim (but the adjusters had seized!), new front anti-roll linkage bars, fuel treatment due to high emissions, new window regulator and specialist switch repair for one of the electri...

Cheers!

Send me a PM and we can exchange addresses and you can tell me who to make cheque payable to etc.
Cheers!

Seat out job from memory but it really is easy. 4 star shaped bolts to undo and the seat is out. Hi - yeah that's what it says in the manual - seat out. But I wanted to check the the seatbelt clip (the bit with the red button) and the pretensioner was all one piece or if it was two seperate bits. I...

Seatbelt prob

I have a problem with the driver's side seatbelt on my SEi. The seatbelt won't clip into the bit attached to the seat. It basically seems like the spring has gone. Checked the Haynes manual and it talks about removing the seat, removing the pretensioner assembly etc. All a bit awkward. So I just wan...

E_T_V wrote:It is the resistor pack which is faulty. You can get a new one from Rover or from a scrap car. I remember reading something on how to replace it, I'll have a look for it in a while.
If you can do that, that would be great. Mine works on 2, 3 and 4 but not number 1.

Nope if definitely not the gears - no crunching or spinning.

Definitely sounds electrcal and only does it on startup.

How much is a new a or recon starter, supplied & fitted?

Cheers

Hi all, I'm usually a regular at BL Day and have been car less, with my old Allegro and last year with my 214SEi! I had to give it a miss this year as my mother in law had just died after a long illness. But, I'm getting back into it now and hopefully I will see you all at an event soon with one of ...

Starter Motor Problem?

Hi all, When I start my 214SEi, the starter sounds like it's "arcing" - its sounds like there is some kind of electrical short or contact going on somewhere. The car starts fine and is OK when the engine is running. It's just this noise upon starting, and it's only started doing it this week. I have...

Nice SEi on eBay

Hi all,

Smart looking, low mileage, well maintained SEi on eBay. If you're looking for one and you're "darn sarf", might be worth a nosey.,

Allegro Show Wakefield Sunday

Good to see Lindsay and partner today at the Allegro show in Wakefield.

I was there as an Allegro club member but seeing as I don't own an Allegro at the moment I took my Rover 214SEi.

Nice to put names to faces - see you at BL day in August!

The addition of this grille onto your R8 will not affect your ability to open the bonnet!

Incidentally, I remember that when Rover started adding these grilles to R8's (1994 I think), the sales of the models shot up. Amazing what a small cosmetic addition did for the model's image.

Cheers,
