Re: Which things will kill our cars? Common faults?

As for people wanting “lesser” models, I’ve found that all R8 variants are quite sought after. Some people like the lesser specced models and don’t dismiss them. However naturally the higher the spec the higher the value. However pricing is really difficult with R8s! I’ve seen SLi specced cars being...

LED Bulbs

Has anyone has any success using LED bulbs in their cars, for either front or rear illumination?

I feel the rear lights in particular are not as effective as they could be in 2019, so wondered if anyone had tried any LED alternatives.

Re: Interior light

Could it be something as simple as a bad earth?

Viz-a-viz check the earth connections. There’s one on the bonnet slam panel. Can’t remember if there are any others.

Really like that colour. Don’t recall seeing it before - really suits it!

Re: Rover 420 GSi Tourer

Without a doubt it’s my favourite R8 since my 214 SEi that I ran between 2005 and 2011. I love driving it!

Re: Rover 420 GSi Tourer

I’ve now had this car for 16 months and it’s a pleasure to own.

MOT passed today, and I’ve done 3,000 miles since the last one.

Still a few things I’d like to sort out on it, but all in good time.

Re: Club Social Media Presence

Well here's my thoughts for what it's worth. Although I love this forum I do think forums are a dying breed and I believe natural selection will one day take it's course. Everything has a life cycle and eventually gets replaced. The ones on here will love it and still keep pushing it but numbers wi...

I thought all these platforms were 2 way and open to anyone to post on. If they are only for outward communication then all my concerns are answered.
People can reply to posts, but these do not display on the main feeds, so yes to all intents and purposes it’s outward going communication only :)

Re: Club Social Media Presence

Interesting and stimulating debate, as one of the individuals who helped set up one of the unofficial FB groups and struggled with the daily administration of a rapid growth in members, I know how difficult it is to monitor, administer, deal with disputes etc. My only concerns are 1. I have no idea...

Re: Club Social Media Presence

Interesting discussion and one that has been going on for some time, having been discussed at the last 3 AGMs. All these new channels are out there and we have to decide which to use and which not to but limiting our presence to just the forum will surely limit the reach of the club. With Paul F no...

Re: Club Social Media Presence

There is a need for club presence in all social media but it is important that the no. 1 place for all information is the club website and the club forum. For this reason any cars offered to the club need to be advertised on here. I know you (Paul) are reluctant to load pics of cars for sale on to ...

Re: Club Social Media Presence

The club's reputation can be tarnished if people start posting inappropriate content on any of the sites. We can't control what people say, or how they say it, so it needs to be continuously monitored. In which case you have nothing to fear - the only person that can post on the Club Twitter or Ins...

Re: Club Social Media Presence

I think there have been 4 cars offered via the club in recent weeks, and I may have forgotten to cross post one of them in the forum. Incidentally a 416 GTi was posted on here and there was zero interest. Added it to one of the “unofficial” FB groups and it found a buyer the very same day. “Unoffici...
