My Dad had a new 214i on an L reg with a grille, so it could well have had it since new.

22 bids from 11 bidders took it to £541. Bargain, given the condition. Winner had been in the running since early days. Is he reading this?

It's not me! although I have been to look at another over the weekend :rolleyes

I'm surprised that people bid [not inconsiderable sums] without doing any due diligence first. I suppose if you win, show up and everything isn't exactly 'as described' in the ad you can back out, but that creates ill feeling with the seller.

Ok guys. The reason I believe the grille is an add on is because if you check the mot history, the car was registered in September 93. The 200 did not receive the grille until the 94 model year around November 93. The other tell tale is the rubbing strip. It changed from red to silver when the grille was added. The 400 received the grille and deep bumper a year earlier for the 93 MY.
