picked up some vitesse recaros last week from wakefield. there in really nice condition but i'll give them a good clean before they go in, much easier when there out of the car.

also picked up some vitesse 17" alloys but there in not so good condition. definitely going to need a refurb. hopefully get them painted in a month or two ready for pride of longbridge.

:laughing2 sort of past donny. along the motorway in the selby area i think. well went past a power station which my mate said was selby power station :S my sense of direction is terrible it really is.

on the alloy front ive been quoted £130 to have them powder coated which i didnt think was bad for 17's. was going to do them myself but the materials and blasting were about half that, then theres the time and effort plus lack of any where in doors to do them. i think powder coating is the way to go.

got my recaros in now and im loving them. they were a bit of a pain to fit and not just a case of swapping sub frames like i hoped. had to modify both 600 sub frames. 4 brackets had to be welded to the drivers side frame and had to do away with the height adjuster but i didnt mind that as i always have it on the lowest setting anyway. after dealing with the drivers side i thought the passenger seat would be much the same but without the hassle of the height adjuster but it was totally different. the passenger one was just trimmed a little and then welded directly to the seat.

more silicone and stainless has been fitted but as the car is used every day the engine bay is filthy and not worth cleaning at the mo so i'll get some pics of that up when the weather gets better.

got my 820 vitesse alloys back from the powder coaters. they found a crack and also a bit of a hole in one of the spokes but managed to fix them luckily. ive gone for white which i know is not to every ones taste but i think it goes well with the colour of my car. just need tyres now.

Yay, they do look nice, I too had mine powder coated in white, they do make a difference I have to admit.
I chose white so that it complimented my interior.

I did find a couple of chips in mine from being on the road, but when it's at a show I just touch them up with some tip x just to hide the spot where they chipped, not the best but a quick fix , especially as one chip mark shows up like crazy.

its an every day car so i expect to get a few chips on my travels. i was going to refurbish them myself but reasoned powder coat was going to endure every day life better.

while at the powder coating place i was looking at various finishes, theres some really fancy ones which im tempted to get some under bonnet stuff done in.

I'm in the process of having all the coolant rails, engine mounts, bulkhead mounts etc etc powder coated in White and will replace all the silicon's as well, I believe powder coating is certainly a feasible option when it comes to a finish yes, I like the idea of some bronze or gold wheels , not sure how they'll go with the BRG though .
Looking forward to seeing your ideas as I think we're heading both in the same direction ish *laughs*

look forward to seeing that when its done.

satin bronze would of been my other choice if i had got my 18" wheels refurbished. there kei ultralite's, jap street racer type wheels.

yeah, fair point, a LOT less audio!, :)

My alloys are just some old Tsw's I bought a good few years ago and to save the ball ache of looking for replacements I found a quick P/coat and they redefine the wheel a lot, I prefer the fewer spokes just so that its easier to clean them on the car for a quick detail, they'd have a complete bath otherwise.

I'm wondering if I can afford to get my Gmax springs coated in white too alongside the hubs, callipers and brake lines..

Have you got the T series in yours then?
