Which red light exactly? MK 2 200s dont have an EML, they have several red lights with a picture denoting which system has a fault. Hand brake light will stay on if brake fluid is low, Oil light will show if your oil pressure is low and the Battery light will show if there is a fault on the charging circuit.
As your fluid levels are ok and with the recent onset of winter, i will suggest the battery or alternator might need checking.

Check your brake fluid level (dot4).

Is it a red light marked 'Check Engine'? That was fitted on cars with the Honda 1.6 engine and if you have a quick search around this forum you should be able to find some information on how to read codes from a flashing LED on the ECU :)
