Loss of coolant

So my 1997 400 bubble went in for MOT today and it was all going well on the way to passing until the tester saw it dumping coolant all over the mot bay. He said the temperature gauge was showing halfway and not overheating and the radiator fan had been on previously.
The picture below shows where most of the fluid ended up, within the two red circles. Also on the underside of the bonnet towards the back. The expansion cap was changed by me a few months ago so can't be that. He said the engine didn't even feel hot. I checked the expansion bottle and the dreaded white mayonnaise type stuff seems to have appeared although it hadn't been there for the last 6 months as I check regularly.
Also he said there was an excessive fuel smell coming from the exhaust and there was excessive water coming out too. To the point he had to change the filter on his testing machine.
So are all these 3 related and do I have the dreaded HGF?
Where do I start to look for the coolant dumping problem?
Thanks guys :S :sleep :sneaky

In short, yes.

Pretty much all the warning signs.

Explosion is pressuring of the coolant system.
Mayo oil n water mixing obvious.
Cold engine, air lock, see above.

Anyone know a link for a step by step guide to dong a HGF? :laughing2

A) Can't afford to pay someone to do it and B) Quite fancy having a go myself, what's the worse that can happen :scared :slapme

Grab a Haynes manual-the guide in there is decent. Has all the required tightening torques, too.
