#1 Post by MGZRreplica » Mon Apr 06, 2020 11:02 am

Has anybody fixed seat adjuster.
The seat rocks backwards and forward.
Anybody got any advice?
Or a detailed drawing?
Thanks

I will check my (factory) workshop manual when I get the chance, it should have instructions on how to take the covers off, so it might also mention the height adjuster.

If that fails, I have a spare Rover 25 seat in the garage that I can have a look at and see if that gives any clues on how it all works. I would think it probably works in a similar way to a car scissor jack.

OK, assuming you have the height adjuster that is operated by a small handle under the front of the seat (not a lever on the side, which was used on 1990-93 R8s), it is exactly how I thought it was when I posted last night.

Effectively a screw jack, so the handle drives a threaded rod in and out of a tube and this acts on some levers to move the seat up and down.

If the seat is rocking, it will be either a problem with the pivots between the levers, or the nuts and screws that hold the seat to the mechanism may have worked loose.

If you remove the whole seat from the car and turn it upside down you will be able to see what is going on.

As the seat is screwed to the mechanism, you should be able to replace just the mechanism with one from any 200, 25, ZR etc.

If it would really help, I could take my spare seat apart and get a few photos.....

I’ve got a basic seat base which is
non-height adjustable or no seat belt
tensioner.
