Soon-to-be GTi owner saying hello!

#1 Post by ThePollitt » Fri Nov 10, 2017 6:06 pm

Howdy,

I was up at the NEC today and found myself being drawn to the stand, which is understandable given my perversion for old Rovers.

It was suggested I should sign up here, so here I am. Hello!

I don't have a Rover at the moment, though I have had many. Not all of them good, a case in point being my 800 Vitesse.

Still, I haven't let that get me down, which is why I'm buying this:

It's a 1992/3 GTi, as you can see. It's been hidden away in Europe for the last decade and a half, but despite this, it's been regularly serviced, it's had all the paintwork sorted and it has new rubber. It's a two owner car, 74k on the clock with full history and pretty much in mint condition. I won't be getting it until next year because, as mentioned, it's in Europe and the current owner is 'wintering' in Oz, the lucky duck.

Anyway, I hope to stick around if you'll have me. And I hope you like my future car!

C

Thanks all!

I can't wait to get it, though it won't be until March. The car is actually over in the Netherlands, and the guy selling it is currently 'wintering' in Oz, Lucky duck.

I suspect it'll need a thorough going over, along with an MOT. Plus I need to get those wheels refurbed, they're letting the car down. After all that, I'll be getting out to some events.

If you were minded to upgrade to half-leather interior, there's seats and door cards, similar cloth pattern, on eBay at the moment:

(Not that I wish to overly reward then for breaking a smart and rare example!)
