Hi ETV, do hope to attend the shows this year, not sure weather ib be in my Canriolet or not do hope so alot depends weather i can afford to have my head gasket sorted, bought a recon head that is fully pressure tested etc, and a friend of mine who is in the trade fitted it and with new MLS gasket etc, she fired up ok, only prob is the coolant p....d out as quick as it went in so that was that, im desperater to get it done and ready by april for Longbride dont suppose any members out there that could help me, my knowledge doesnt extend to head gasket removal and fitting.

Many thanks for running an excellent club

Just wish i had that bit more knowledge in the engine room department, as i feel really stuck at the mo, love my car too bits and wont part with her, just cant afford a huge garage bill to get it sorted, but if i do hjave to save for it and get it done i will even if it means missing the shows this year.

Many thanks again for youre help and advice all

i tend to farm all my mechanical work out to a mechanic friend who is a rover enthusiast. possibly a bit more serious problem with it if the gasket was done and water still came out. either it was fitted wrong or the head is warped, block is warped or both.

as i said last year steve, if you can get to east kirkby early enough you can jump in with me so wont cost you anything.

Cheers Dave, much appreaciate that, when i went last year i had such a good day, just wish it had been in my Rover too, do hope the head isnt warped, do have all the certifiactres etc and from a reputible company who did the work, my hunch is the gasket may have been fitted wrong as she fired up with no probs.
