1999 Rover 416 sli R3

#1 Post by gbs100 » Wed Mar 01, 2017 5:20 pm

Well it looks like i am now the proud owner of a 1999 T reg 416 sli. It came in px at work. The elderly owner who had owned the car from new had treated himself to a new VW Polo. Anyhow it is finished in nightfire red. it has quite good spec. front+rear electric windows, abs, alloy wheels, front foglamps. The mot ran out last week.
So i hear you ask what price did pay for this bit of fine British motoring history. Well i was told due to the age+the mot running out last week i could have it for...........free :clapping
So the good points.
4 new Avon tyres.
It was free
New Exide battery
It was free
Unused spare wheel + toolkit
It was free
Fully sevice history.
It was free.
Now the not so good news
No mot
Rusty rear wheel arches

Nice one Graham! Will make a nice change for you. See how it runs and if you enjoy it over the next few months then get those arches sorted!

Thanks. The first thing to do is book it in for a mot. I've just checked out the cars mot history on the vosa website. It failed its last test due to corrosion . But as we all know no two mots are the same. Especially as it was done. At kwick fit. :*laughing my fat rear end off*
