Dot the I's and cross the t's :glare

Power steering all hooked up and filled now, not bleed yet for obvious lack of engine running (see further down)
Image

Timing belt fitted and covers
Image

rest of the electrics finally plumbed in.
Image

Decided to do the speakers now, while i was at it, they looked shitee
Image
Image
Image

Door card refitted, and thats that door done
Image

As for the drivers door i had to take the front wing off so i could get access to finally fit the door loom from the main body loom.

Dash trim seemed a fitting time to be fitted
Image

and the seat, making it a comfortable side of the car.
Image

Air filter, turbo actuator and release valves fitted. Clutch cable and a general tidy round.
Image

and finally, i re-name thee OAT
Image
Image

Well, that's all the good news out of the way :unsure

finally found all the wires from the dash to the indicator stalks so everything was plugged in so just one thing left to do........

Image

But

Image

I connected the battery and tried to sync the fobs, not happening.
So i did the bypass of the immobiliser and turned to key position 3, and nothing :glare
Checked it was connected and decided that wasn't the worst of it.

I hadn't heard the fuel pump prime either. :slapme

:slapme So if those two incidents weren't enough to put a damper on the days progress, two of the new brake screws leaked when i tried to put fluid in and it appears the pipes that i did, were not good enough :unsure

To my defense they were the first ones i had ever done but true to style 3 steps forward 7 steps back

New windscreen being fitted tomorrow :clapping

Nice progress Craig, really getting there now.Shame about the brake hose screws and pump/immobilizer etc. I'm sure you will figure it out.
My original speakers were exactly like yours when going to replace them.

Thanks. Lee.

Hopefully you won't have to undo too much car to put the niggles right. You'll get there, we all have faith in your abilities.

I have the same speakers, cracking quality. ;)

Could have cleaned the old power steering fluid drippage below the nice clean bottle. Image

I see your guy has done what my last one did - fit a header moulding which overlaps the roof instead of abutting it with a conformal feather edge (as shown in your 'before' pic). I found with mine that the new one dammed water which only ran off if I braked firmly or turned smartly. The surge glugging down the covered side channels (saloon body) then overflowed though the trim clip holes into the footwells!I tracked down a couple of the original design headers to keep in store for the next time. I expect Mike to pop by and tell us he has some on the shelf!

The top stuff is actually universal even though mine was still usable and free to anyone who wants/needs it.

My cars don't get wet, or driven that much :laughing2
