T Series Pipework Remanufacturing Group Buy

#1 Post by rjessett » Tue Jan 19, 2021 10:14 pm

Hi - just a note to let members know that some members of the Rover Coupe Owners Club are organising another group buy / remanufacturing of stainless steel coolant pipes for cars with the T-Series engines. I know many (if not all ) of these pipes are not just used by the tomcat, but on the other 200's & 400's, so I thought I would let you all know. I hope thats ok

details are on this thread:-

Yeah - good point, its in a section thats open to all registered users, it only takes a minute to register

But - there is quite a bit of detail, and discussion and too much to cross post, but the jist of it is there was a group buy before Christmas, and the first batch are in production.
Turbo

Lower Rad pipe Air con
Lower rad pipe non aircon.
Main coolant pipe ( with two run offs)
Thin pipe was goes around the head.
pipe that goes to the expansion tank
Andy is doing the dipstick pipe as we could not get anybody to make them for us...

Nasp lower rad pipe

Again we can now look at any pipe if there is enough interest

Thank you for making the connection :D

There's a great network of individuals actually making many of the parts that we need to keep our cars going :clapping

Hi one and all,
I'm one of the two guys involved in the above, we have had an amazing response to the pipes, were about 3/4 of the way to the finished item.Pipes purchased, fabricated, we had to make jigs for each different design of pipe, we have finished that stage and they went to the welders yesterday to have the smaller pipes welded on, next stage is brackets then the final stage will be the polishers, we stopped taking orders as well had so many to make, and any mistakes could be costly, so we have to get it right, as soon as I have a sample of finished pipes I'll post up on here, we have no issues with a second order and we have started a second order list, I'll get pictures and examples on here as soon as they come back, we will also look at any other pipes if there's something you cannot get any more, like the coupe club, we had to get an example to copy, and who ever gave us an example of pipe to be copied, gets a free one back plus the original supplied.

Brilliant job :clapping

We've been trying to interest some of the bigger parts companies to get involved and have been using these parts as one of the examples of pent-up demand, so it's great to see people picking up parts like these and making them :cool

I see that they're stainless steel - will they be supplied raw or finished?

If finished, what will that finish be?

I have some pipes on order and personally would prefer a factory look black finish rather than polished finish and at the start of the group buy thought this was disgust as a option.

Is the original finish power coating or something else?
