BL Day at Peterborough is no more
According to their FB Page, the show at Nene Park in Peterborough has been pulled.
Was a good show in years gone by but has been on the wane for a couple of years now.

Re: BL Day at Peterborough is no more
The organisers have been flagging this for a couple of years and without additional support forthcoming they've decided to end it now.
Events only happen if people organise them... like POL.

Re: BL Day at Peterborough is no more
The 25th Anniversary themed show saw fewer cars turn up, presumably because people thought the day had become exclusive, but as it turned out no-one bothered to make the effort to bring a '93 car and some other owners stayed away.
I think this is a great shame personally. It was well organised, in a good location, had a wide range of cars and a busy, extensive auto-jumble, and was always held in nice weather at the height of summer. Really nice, relaxing atmosphere to the show and you could take everything at your own pace.

first footman james, now peterborough.
best keep an eye on pol, if it turns into a washout again i wouldn't blame Gemma from pulling the plug as well. No one needs that level of agro.

PoL should be moved to at least May or perhaps later in the year like September, I know the weather can be 50/50 on both
these months but at least its a safer bet, plus there were signs that the weather was going to be bad several days before
the last 3 PoL events and last min scrambles spoiled it for a lot, year some people made a day of it by going else where or
just parking on the road outside but its no fun.
Gemma gets all the credit in the world for organising this event and because of the above events disappearing a bit more
thought need to go into PoL as if we get another washout or a last minute cancellation I suspect it could make long lasting
effects to it in the next few years to come.

PoL is tied to these dates to tie in with the closing of Longbridge by the Phoenix 4 if you look at the rota Facebook group pride of Longbridge I think there is an explanation about thisROVER-25X wrote: ↑Sun Mar 17, 2019 4:02 pmPoL should be moved to at least May or perhaps later in the year like September, I know the weather can be 50/50 on both

Re: BL Day at Peterborough is no more
Of late the weather could be very wet in May or June!
It should be obvious given some thought, that if it's been raining cats & dogs all the previous week that Crofton Park will be water logged surely?
I think it's more important to celebrate the cars and the clubs that help to keep them on the road than the date the factory closed.
I've not been to Peterborough but I seem to recall the folks were getting parking fines and follow up threatening letters and this happened two years running? That is bound to create ill feeling.

A few of us here got parking tickets but they were overturned without much problem.Mr Teddy Bear wrote: ↑Tue Mar 19, 2019 3:04 pmOf late the weather could be very wet in May or June!

However it was noticeably quiet last year. In fact I’d go so far as to say it was dead. The SD1 stand had ONE car on it. I think they changed to format and layout and it didn’t work compared to previous years. A shame as it used to be a good show.
