Second car now in for a lovely hg swap. 98k miles, still on it’s original gasket which out lived the clutch!!!!

Only being done as part of a full service of gaskets, thermostat, water pump and belts.

Third car already booked in as this was only started today and should be done for Sunday.

Not bad for a part timer.

Look who's paid us a visit :clapping

Dragged, kicking and screaming from its sleeping hole at home.

When I finally got it to start (it was reluctant due to bad batteries), I thought, stuff it and just drove it to the unit instead of towing it.
This was a mistake, bad fuel, bad brakes, bad exhaust all added up to an interesting 1m drive but, it's here so all of the above can now be sorted.

Work hopefully begins tomorrow with the strip down.

A familiar face popped into RR for some service work and a nip/tuck starting with an MOT on Thursday.

In for a well deserved spruce up - new bushes, engine mounts, rear dampers - and a bit of rust removal - sills, filler neck - so it's ready for another 25 years :clapping

It'll be back for the 30th anniversary bash at Gaydon, won't it Craig?! :wink3

You won't be disappointed :angel

All the work that was needed to be done was done but not the stuff that wasn't necessary.

All this and a local welder and MOT station!

My car does feel a whole lot better with a new set of engine mounts and a significant number of suspension bushes changed. I've stayed OE expect for the front suspension tie-rod bushes, where I've gone for powerflex 'purple' bushes and the ARB bushes as I'd got the wrong sizes :slapme . The ride is more settled and a lot quieter.

Changing the gearlinkage bushes has tightened-up the shift nicely too. Just felt the old knuckle joint and it's remarkably tight - I was expecting it to have a lot of play...

With a cambelt change we should be good for another 5 years, if not 25 :laughing2

Sounds about right for the Chapel-O-Dist, seen many a car worked on over the years. :D

Glad the car feels better buddy, new lease of life and all that jazz. Image
