South Coast

#1 Post by PaulMcOptom » Sat Oct 03, 2020 10:36 pm

Hello R8 team.

I know many will.benefit from the skill and expertise of rover revival.

I currently feel isolated living in Hampshire

Can anyone recommend an accessible and genuine garage for cam belt and other routine maintenance in the south? Or are any members skilled enough to support my knowledgable but keen amateur mechanic approach

Thanks..

Paul

We have couriers up and down the country and it’s not always as expensive as people think.

The more people use us the sooner we can have our own recovery truck.

Hi Paul

I'm based in Sussex, have just got back into Rover ownership after many years and in preparation of what no doubt lies ahead(!) have done a bit of research myself

https://www.facebook.com/MJS-Auto-Marin ... 2516732433

These guys are based near Worthing but are fully mobile and cover the South/South East specialising in Rover/MG Head Gaskets amongst other things. They seem to have good reviews but i can't vouch for them myself just yet.

My recent purhase is a one owner 200 BRM with 84k on the clock and a good history up to around the 60k point where it becomes a bit thinner so will probably have the cam belt etc done as a matter of course.

All the best

Joe

I am based just over the border in Wiltshire, and will be making the trip up to RR.
Like yourself I only have limited mechanical abilities/skills/knowledge but am keen to learn.
Bought myself a Haynes manual and will be attempting a few bits myself. :scared
If you do find anywhere in the local area do let me know, likewise if I find one I will do the same :)
