Which is the best Engine Oil?

#1 Post by tonyinbeds » Fri Aug 28, 2020 1:43 pm

Hi,
Does anyone have any favourite oil they use? Given the increasing multitude of synthetics I am starting to fear putting in something totally unsuitable. It seems harder and harder to find 'bog standard' oil.
:)
Cheers

Castrol Magnatec 10W40. Reassuringly expensive. And I put Millers semi-synthetic EE nanodrive 10W40 (also meets MTF-94 spec.) in the gearbox.

And so do I. Better when starting up in winter and no damage to the engine. I'm used to change it every year (6.5k mls).

These are my two choices too.
I was looking at the millers or castrol for the engine, forgot about the box!

Isn't synthetic better (for the engine) than semi?

Bear in mind I dont have the Kseries engine..
